Why this 30-60-90 initiative by Mike? Why now?

  • A desire to connect and reconnect with like-minded men.

  • I continue to have the same passion for the Ten Balloons as I had in 1976 when I began this personal discipline of writing mission statements.

  • I love the possibilities of helping others dream greater dreams for themselves and those in their sphere of influence.

  • Discipleship never ends.

What obstacles do we face in attempting this initiative?

  • Fantasy Football, Golf Leagues, Poker Nights and other commitments limit the need for men to invest time and energy into other areas of their lives.

  • Researchers say that only 3% of people set goals and write them down - finding that 3% is a challenge - and I enjoy challenges!

  • People take pride in “being busy” and are not comfortable with change.

Who has been invited ?

  • Great individuals I know from my 52 years of living in the Miami Valley from all walks of life.

What is the deeper vision for this initiative?

In the past few years personal relationships and purposes have changed dramatically within America. Many are seeking new purpose, new vision and new starts and often lack a venue or starting place for that to happen.

  • Many men feel alone in seasons of trials. Death, divorce, loss of job, retirement, health issues mental issues, aging and family issues.

Is this initiative connected with a church?

No. The hope is that people already have a network or place to mature their own faith in and hopefully men sharing ideas from a variety of faith perspectives will bring forth fresh ideas and challenges.
